Georgian diary - Caucaos
This work tries to provide an image of a country with still uncertain reflections. Doubled in its identity, Georgia tries to get out of the post-Soviet system and enter the orbit of the protection of the Western states. The European Union and the United States have been carrying out this tug of war with Russia for years, which has a strong influence in the Caucasus region. Since the Rose revolution of 2013, the various governments that have followed one another over the years have not helped to clarify the spirit of the nation. The desire to start again under a new idea of independence is strong, but the political actors on stage do not inspire the necessary trust. In all this, the popular will leads to alternate pro-Western and pro-Russian governments that in this constant vibration struggle to drive out their political adversary. Periodically the protests ignite and call everyone to the streets but without things really changing. In the background, a social reality still strongly linked to the past and a new generation that is slowly abandoning the heritage of the past to throw itself with a conscious gaze into a future that is still uncertain.
This work is the first part of a wider exploration of the Caucasus region.
